The domain is part of a network of sites about first names and surnames. For anything concerning a published figure, the address above is monitored.
What this site publishes
dirnames.com crosses two things that are already public: the first names and the surnames that appear on open web pages. That gives three kinds of page: which first names go with a surname, which surnames go with a first name, and how often a given combination has been seen.
The figures are counts of appearances, not a census. A first name and a surname appearing together a thousand times does not mean a thousand people are called that: it means the combination has been seen a thousand times. This is explained in full on the About page.
Access is free and requires no registration. The content is informational and is not genealogical, legal or any other kind of advice.
Taking something down
This site publishes no addresses, phone numbers, dates or contact details of any kind: only name and surname frequencies, which are aggregate figures. Even so, if you believe a page affects you personally, write to the address above quoting the exact URL. It will be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed. No reason or proof is required to ask.
Data protection
This site asks for no personal data in order to browse it: there is no registration, no sign-up form and no newsletter. This site itself stores no identifying data about visitors.
There are third-party cookies, described below. Their legal basis is consent, which is requested before they are set and can be withdrawn at any time.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection to processing by writing to the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency or with your own national authority.
